Provence

The Provence is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and most visited holiday destinations of France. With its wonderful Mediterranean climate and 300 days of sunshine, the Provence is a fantastic place to visit in any month of the year. Besides the comfortable climate, the region is known for its beautiful wine landscape and the centuries-old villages, but also for the remains of the Roman era, the glamour of the Côte d’Azure and the excellent food. A region full of opportunities for everyone!

Saint Pierre de Vassols

Villa Cantirane is located just outside the village of Saint Pierre de Vassols. The village is known for its table grapes, cherries, olive trees and truffles. In the old heart of Saint Pierre de Vassols there are many restored houses, which give its charm to the village.

Saint Pierre de Vassols has a bar and several restaurants, one of which is within walking distance of Villa Cantirane: Auberge Provencal. Another very nice restaurant in the village itself is Le Vasols. Please book in time.  In addition, there is a supermarket for all your daily shopping at ten minutes’ walking distance:  U express. The real French baker is at a 5 minutes drive from Villa Cantirane, to be found in the neighbouring village of Bedoin. The larger and livelier Bedoin is inhabited throughout the year and has all the usual amenities. In the cultural centre of the village all sorts of activities are organised and you can find tennis courts, a library and an outdoor swimming pool.

Mont Ventoux

The surroundings of the house are dominated by the presence of the Mont Ventoux. It is the highest mountain in the region and, due to its popularity during the Tour de France, very popular with cyclists. Of course you can drive to the highest point from where you have a view over the entire region. On the way down there are plenty of places where you can stop to enjoy the view or have a picnic. In winter there is often snow on the mountain and ski slopes are open, even then the Mont Ventoux is phenomenally beautiful!
